As a young child my favourite game was playing “Business”. My first “Business’ was called Seal Company (no idea why or where the name originated from). Seal Company could do just about everything. I used advertising pamphlets in the mail to create my own catalogue of products and services. A small blue plastic till rung nonstop as the cash drawer opened and closed, receiving and handing out a mix of hand – made cheques and monopoly money. A make shift phone was always in use, calling my main client, my mom, who had to be within hearing distance. This usually meant me under the kitchen table while mom ironed or cooked. This was the busiest yet most successful one woman operation.
Over the years, I ventured into various corporate roles in many different industries across the globe. The once little girl, CEO of Seal Company, from Kimberley definitely spread her wings. Not only did my life experiences expand, but so did my love for shopping. An increase in disposable income over the years meant I could increase the quality of my purchases.
Continuing with a self-imposed New Year’s tradition, of wearing new sleepwear, to see the New Year in, one New Year’s Eve I went searching for high quality, sophisticated, well styled cotton sleepwear. Needless to say I was not successful. Bombarded with high street fashion fads, cheap, crazy printed cotton fabrics and made in China faux silks, I decided it was time to launch Rose Creations.
From Seal Company days to current Rose Creations, my family remain an integral part of the business. Rose Creations is fully supported by my Husband, new baby, (who lets mom work in between nap and feeding time), as well as my parents and brother.
Rose Creations is all about high quality fabrics, well-tailored garments in classical yet sophisticated styles and vibrant colours. Our garments are limited editions so when you see something you like, don’t wait, don’t hesitate, simply buy it!
